Bleeding Control Course planned for September 17th
We are planning on providing 3 different 90 minute training sessions on Saturday September 17th
Session times will include: 8-9:30 am, 10-11:30 am, and 12-1:30 pm.
We will send you a confirmatory email on a rolling basis to ensure that you are aware that you are on the list for those that will be attending.
The bleeding control course is aimed at providing a 90-minute course that involves a didactic and hands-on training on management of bleeding. It has been developed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and helps educate everyone in the community on how to control bleeding. Students of the course are trained on how to control bleeding through use of direct pressure, tourniquet application, and hemostatic dressing application.
Once you have passed the course, you will then be certified to teach others within their communities.
We will include the tourniquets, dressings, and manikins for training. A PowerPoint would be included and paper materials for reference will also be provided.
There is no charge to the students for this course. For more information regarding the importance and purpose of the course, please visit: https://www.bleedingcontrol.org/
Sporting Clays Are BACK!!!
Sporting Clays started back up on May 12th. They will continue to be on Thursdays throughout the summer from 4 pm to 6 pm through September 15th (for now).
The cost for a round of 50 clay pigeons is $12.00 for BSCC members and $15.00 for non-members. Youth (17 years old and younger) or individuals participating in high school trap or other youth shooting programs will cost $7.00. Shooters age 16 and under must show Firearm Safety Certificate to shoot.
Starting April 14th, Ranges CLOSED Thursdays
BSCC shooting ranges will be closed all day every
Thursday from April 14 -- November 17.
Why? The Maintenance Team will be mowing and
performing other grounds maintenance from 8:00
AM until early afternoon each Thursday (not
Wednesdays as in the past).
THEN the Sporting Clays Team will be setting up the
sporting clays which starts at 4:30 PM each
Thursday from early May until mid September.
The Maintenance team does a terrific job keeping
our grounds beautiful. Range closure ensures a safe
space for them to work downrange. Likewise for the
Sporting team. And a reminder to always check the
Club calendar before coming out to shoot.
The Club sponsors occasional youth and other events requiring range closures and we publish these here:
